The Last Walk! Final clip!

Who would be the audience for your media product? How did you attract / address your audience?

Who would be the audience for your media product? How did you attract / address your audience?

The target audiences for The Last Walk are 17 to 25 year old males and females. In the research section we looked why our target audience liked horror films. We also looked in to other horror films that used a low budget to see what worked well and what we could use in our own film. We have chosen this age range, as we believe they are the group of people who are mostly likely want to see a gritty British horror film.

To attracted an audience once I film had been finally finished I showed it to few friends and asked for there feedback. I have added their response below.

Matt aged 17 – I really like what you guys have done here. I feel’s like a proper film. I want to see the rest.  The dark music and surreal titles gives it is scary feel! The narrative was easy to follow as it fitted the stereotypical thriller theme. The style of filming you used really made me feel like I was in there position. I think that if this were really made into a full film I would defiantly go and see it.

Craig aged 19 – Overall I really like this short clip. It shows that you have put a lot on time and energy into producing it. The clip has a great pace, you never left feeling bored. However an improvement in my opinion would be the quality of the clip, although I know you had to use the collage cameras. I really like what you have made here. Well done.

Ash aged 23 – Really nice job, looks like a real horror film. I think its been filmed really well. I also thing the interference gives it a really cool touch. I really felt like it fitted the horror conventions and I was watching a real film. The titles and cool sound effects really add to the feel of the

What kind of media institution might distribute you media product and why?

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From start to finish of this whole project I have learnt so much.  From initially learning how to use and camera and tripod correctly when making the preliminary, to then going out with the equipment and filming the first two minutes of a film.

First of all using a blog was a totally new experience for me. I was a different way of recording information and data then I was normally used to. After a few weeks of using the blog I started to the positives of using it. Getting feedback off friends and my teacher was really easy and the fact you could reach your work from any computer with a internet connection.
When it came to filming. Being behind the camera really made me thing about shot positions and camera locations. As if an unwanted object was in shot it would ruin the feel of the clip. Choosing the correct place for them camera also really changed the footage you got as lighting could be a real problem. I learnt that using a camera tripod for all non-moving shots is a must. As even if you seem to stand perfectly straight there will always be camera wobble.

After finished the filming process looking back made me release that things don’t always go to plan and that your team should always have a back up. For example our group thought it would only take a day for film all the footage needed.  This was not the case as we ha problems with the weather and some group members.
Preliminary task I had no idea how to even import video let alone cut and edit correctly. I now feel totally confident going on to an editing machine and editing a clip. I have explored the cool features of the editing programs to find effects.

From my preliminary to my final product I think its clear to see we have improved a lot. There has been much more detailed taken in to consideration at each small step instead of just filming and seeing what it looks like.
